The Heavenly Gate Trio

Many years ago in the 1950's Bernie, Geoff and Maurice Cooper started a gospel singing group, called the Heavenly Gate Trio. I have uploaded 2 recordings of songs the trio made during that time. You will find them on the Sound page (http://bernard.norris.muchloved.com/frame.aspx?df=false). Here are the lyrics for these gospel songs: I’m longing for that glorious day when Jesus shall come back I long to see His blessed face When all the saints throughout the ages Shall be gathered home The ones who trusted in His grace Chorus I’m longing for Jesus to come back I long for Jesus Christ my King To come and take me to my home beyond the skies Up there where angels shout and sing Sometimes the road seems rough and hard The pathway seems so long But He is always by my side He whispers loving words to me And tells me to be strong That He will always lead and guide Chorus I’m longing for Jesus to come back I long for Jesus Christ my King To come and take me to my home beyond the sky Up there where angels shout and sing Oh! What a glorious day t'will be When through the air I go To meet the One who died for me My sorrows, sick, trials and tears Will all be left behind For there my joy will be complete Chorus I’m longing for Jesus to come back I long for Jesus Christ my King To come and take me to my home beyond the sky Up there where angels shout and sing Music information: First Line: I'm longing for that glorious day Title: Longing for Jesus Author: I. McPherson Publication Date: 1949 MELODY IN THE NIGHT Words by E.L. Slavens and Ira F. Stanphill You can have a melody down in your heart, When it's aching, almost breaking. Even tho' the sorrows make the teardrops start, You can have a melody down in your heart. Chorus: You can have a song in your heart in the night After every trial, after every mile. Anyone can sing when the sun is shining bright, But you need a song in your heart at the night. Do not let your worries drive your song away, Though tomorrow brings its sorrow, Just remember after night time comes the day. Do not let your worries drive your song away. Soon the night will pass and morning brings the day; I am longing for its dawning, Until then we'll labour here and watch and pray, Soon the night will pass and morning bring the day.
